We started out ok traveling down from Auckland via Hamilton and Rotorua. Unfortunately on the third day we went for a short walk while traveling through Taupo and had our car broken into.
This was the beginning of a few hectic days trying to get our passports, Australian visas and tickets sorted out. We sure got to see a lot of police stations, embassies and consulates.. Due to this mishap we didn't get to travel to the south island. At least we got to see some of the beautifully northland part of the north island.
A big thank you to the people at the victim support unit at Taupo and my old colleague and friend Andrew Kirkland that took us in to his and his wife Liz's bed and breakfast Broadeaves at Waikanae.
Among all the things the thieves took off with was our camera battery charger so there's not to many photos here. Perhaps for the better because I really just want to forget this trip:)
